What is Primal Motherhood About?

With all this background information, it’s time to get to the good stuff and answer the question that everyone is asking. What is Primal Motherhood all about?

I’m excited to share with you information on living a healthy lifestyle through nutrition, exercise, and gardening.

I am very passionate about living a healthy “balanced” lifestyle and promoting that in kids. I say balance, because life is all about balance and being a mom or just a human being, you learn that balance is very important in your everyday life. You need to balance multiple schedules and most of the time, you forget the most important YOU! I know personally, I’m still working on this balance every day and I try to keep a constant reminder that I can’t take care of others unless, I take care of myself.

A big part of living that balanced and healthy lifestyle is exercise. I’ve always had such a love/hate relationship with exercise. Some days are so hard to get that workout in or complete that workout, but it always feels good once it is completed. That feeling of accomplishment. I had a really hard time getting back into working out after pregnancy, I was always comparing myself to where I was pre-pregnancy. I learned quickly that I may never get back to where I was pre-pregnancy and to cut myself some slack and just be proud that I am able to get out and do whatever exercise I wanted to do for that day. Something that my husband and I really connected on was exercise and our love for training for events. We loved to sign up for whatever race and be able to push ourselves to complete that challenge. I want to talk about the challenges of working out, the body shaming, ways to talk about working out with your children, finding time to work out, etc.

Also, one thing that I love to do is gardening. We are currently renting right now so it’s more small space gardening, but it just goes to show that you can garden anywhere. We always rented when we lived in California and I always had a garden. I started gardening when we lived in Sacramento at one of our houses and fell in love with it. It was my little escape. I want to be able to share with all of you some of my gardening adventure that I currently have and some education on food and ways to get your kids involved with growing their own food. I love starting all sorts of gardening projects such as; planting my own sprouts (we’ll talk more about that next week), growing micro greens (just starting this adventure), growing food from your table scraps, small pot gardening, canning recipes and tricks, and growing tomatoes (which I love to grow!!) This is one thing that I grew up doing. My parents always had a garden in the summers, and we were always out there, so this is something that I am very passionate about.

The last thing is kids’ nutrition and overall nutrition. I don’t think I really understood how fueling our body’s effects our overall mood until I really jumped into research on children’s and adult nutrition. Once, Dax starting eating table foods, I made all his foods. I was able to do my own research on certain foods and able to know what I was giving my child. I want to share some fun and easy recipes that Daxton loves, and I also love. I just want to say; I am not a nutritionist; so always go with your own judgement and consult your pediatrician if you feel it is necessary. I also want to talk about some of the challenges of feeding, I’m sure we all have been there when feeding a toddler.

I’m extremely excited to start this new adventure and I hope that I can provide easy and quality information regarding lifestyle, exercise, nutrition, and gardening projects. These are all things that I am very passionate about and excited to share with all of my followers. I don’t think you have to have a green thumb. Just patience! Lots of patience and you can do it

I really wish I could get into gardening. My grandfather loved it, as did my grandmother, but I just don't seem to have a green thumb. I'm excited to see what you come up with in the future, and so happy that you're excited for this journey yourself :D
